Too late to avoid: Once someone is pregnant, it's too late to avoid pregnancy via abstinence, birth control pills/patches/shots/rings, condoms, etc. If child is not wanted, she can consider either giving up child at birth for adoption or undergoing medical/surgical abortion if early enough in pregnancy. Best to discuss these options w/her family doc & obstetrician.
