Oral Sex and risk: Hi it is very difficult to get an infection in your throat if you are performing oral sex on a female. But, that does not mean it is impossible. Ir your partner has syphilis or herpes these can be contagious to you. If you are worried at all or are experiencing any throat symptoms it is very easy to be tested for the more common infections such as gonorrhea and chlamydia with a throat swab.

See answer: I agree with dr. Killian's answer. Also, ...Genital herpes is caused by the herpes simplex type 2 virus, whereas the common cold sore is caused by the herpes simplex type 1 virus (which most of the population has antibodies to). If you have any oral lesions, they could be tested and sent for culture. If hsv-2 comes back from an oral test, than you have contracted genital herpes from the oral sex.

Cunnilingus: You could conceivably get syphilis or gonorrhea altho both are very unlikely. Herpes is possible, paricularly if she had active lesions. Hiv would literally unheard of.
