Hallux Limitus: Hallux limitus is a painful arthritic condition of the big toe joint where the toe meets the foot. Cortisone injections , icing, antiinflammatories, and orthotics are very helpful. Ultimately you may need surgery to clean out the joint and decompress the joint for more motion. You may also be suffering from an acute gout attack of the joint. The treatment is similar. See a podiatrist!
