Honey: Believe it or not, 1 tsp of honey every 4 hours is an evidence-based treatment for cough in children. Of course albuterol is typically beneficial too. So, if it is a minor cough, especially at night, cool humidified air in the bedroom and 1 tsp of honey should help. If you are worried about your child's breathing status, please seek medical care soon.
