Glasses for exotrophic?

2 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

For vision - yes: Exotropia is when the eyes are pointed away from each other. Commonly the vision is down in one of the eyes (amblyopia) but it may be good in both in which alternate vision is likely (one eye at a time). Glasses can improve the acuity of the vision but will not make a difference in the eye position.

Sometimes: Glasses with prisms or with minus correction are sometimes used to decrease the amount of exotropia or minimize symptoms.
