A member asked:

Do b symptoms eventually develop in lymphoma? are there stage 4 patients with no b symptoms?

Not required: B symptoms are not guaranteed with any stage lymphoma. Their presence are a poor prognostic factor and represent a more aggressive behavior of the lymphoma regardless of stage. There are stage 4 lymphoma patients who do not have b symptoms. Thus, not all patients who have lymphoma develop b symptoms.

B Symptoms: B symptoms are any combination of persistent fevers, drenching night sweats/chills, or significant weight loss. Not all lymphoma patients get them. Not even all stage IV lymphoma patients get them. Patients without b symptoms and stage IV disease are staged as having stage iva disease.
