What does it mean when my creatinine serum level is .52 and my bun creatinine ratio is 23h?

Kidney function test: Serum creatinine and BUN are tests to check if your kidney function is normal or not. Serum creatinie is a very reliable means to determine the kidney function; BUN is an older, slightly less reliable test. Normal creatinine level is under 1.5mg and BUN is unde 20mg. But there is a wide range for both which is normal. Your creatinine being less than 1 is perfectly normal. The ration is not critical.

Normal kidney levels: You may have mild dehydration based on BUN to creatinine ratio of more than 20. Make sure, though, that your urinalysis is normal.
