Skin infection: It sounds like there was a skin infection there with a pocket of pus. You drained it. The stuff that came out was pus--how the body fights germs. It needs to heal more, so warm packs on it will help speed that up. Talk to your son's doctor who will decide if you need an antibiotic, more drainage, or just watching it. It probably came from a bite or scratch that got infected.
