I had an abortion under general anaesthetic but i regret my decision deeply and want to try to conceive. how soon after an abortion is it safe to try?

Check with Your OB: From an anesthetic standpoint, it depends on which drugs were used from your anesthetic. Most drugs are cleared out within several days. My concern is more from an obstetrician's advice as to how soon you could start conception.

Stability first: Having a baby causes a profound shift in a person's life. It requires a huge, life-long commitment. Being a parent can add to life satisfaction over the long-term, but it is one of the most challenging endeavors that people ever take on. Your question suggests that therapy might allow you to get some increased clarity about your values and goals.
