Enough fiber,fluids: Colon works to pull water out of stool; what's left depends on fiber content, fluid content. Hard pellets: inadequate in both; watery: imbalance of fluid/solid due to a bunch of things (secretion, inflammation, inadequate fiber, irritable bowel, infection). Rope-like shape is because the colon is a long cylinder. Liquid stool on right, progressively more formed as it moves through.
