Problem: Menstrual bleeding of any kind should never last for more than 7 days. Any bleeding whether light spotting or normal flow is counted and therefore is indicating that a problem is present. Polyps, abnormal pap smears, ovarian cysts, infections, fibroids, hormone imbalance and other problems could be the cause. Women with this problem should be seen by a gynecologist.
