Don't be afraid: Tampons can be very safe is used properly. Google "how to insert a tampon" and tampax has several links/sites that walk you through the process. If you have a trusted relative (older sister, aunt, mom you are close with) they can be a big help too, don't be afraid to ask for it. Best wishes.
