Yes and no: No method of contraception is 100% effective.Condoms are good for decreasing the risk of STDs as well as the risk of pregnancy but don't completely eliminate the risk of eitherBirth control pills do cause some changes in the body but have not been shown to cause weight gain.I have patients on pills who complain of weight loss as well as some who complain of weight gain.Pregnancy causes weight gain
