How long do swallowing problems last after base skull meningioma surgery?

Skull base tumor: The nerves that control your swallowing are at the skull base and can be injured by the tumor or during the resection. If the nerves were injured by the tumor then swallowing problems might be permanent. Normally we do not make a final assessment until at least six months after the surgery.
