See below: Scientists recommend that pregnant or lactating women be held to lower dietary intake levels of Alpha tocopherol and vitamin e substances. One reason is because high dosages of some of these tocopherol elements have been linked to birth defects. The rda for pregnant women of any age, it is 15 milligrams (or 22.5 iu); for breastfeeding women of any age, it is 19 milligrams (or 28.5 iu).

Shouldn't B pbm: Studies during lactation show normal e supplements to be relatively safe.(1mg alpha-tocopherol) caution is advised if using vitamin e oil on nipples as it can be hazardous. See: hale, t;medications & mother's milk, pp.1144-1145, 15ed, 2012.
