Not normal: A woman's ovaries produce cysts every month with the normal menstrual cycle. These dont usually cause pain. Abnormal cysts of the ovaries can cause pain if they are large, have bled internally or ruptured, or twisted on themselves, or are not related to normal hormone changes. Sometimes surgery is needed to remove the cysts to control the pain.

Not enough info: Ovaries produce cysts each month so this normal and not usually source of pain. If its just one spot on left or right that she points to with one finger then maybe, if its an area any larger then likely bladder, intestine, endometriosis or uterine.
