What are the differences between zytrec and claritin (loratadine) in effectiveness?

Individual issue: There is only one way to tell, trial & error. Both are helpful for many.Zyrtec has a benedryl like quality in that it crosses into the brain & can cause some sedation, while Claritin (loratadine) does not.In some small infants, their problem is less allergy and more irritant based (smoke, fumes, dust etc) and neither will help with irritants.

Zyrtec (cetirizine) sleep inducer: Both work well. Zyrtec may make a little more sleepy than claritin (loratadine).
