Acute pain managemen: After surgery pain management can be frustrating for both the patient and the doc. Surgeons try to prescribe the mildest pain medication to get the patient through the acute pain. Patients often want to avoid any pain and hope for very strong medications. Combinations of anti-inflammatory medications like Motrin and tylenol (acetaminophen) with Codeine work very well. Ok to ask your surgeon.
