See below: When intraveous needles have been placed in my arms, i find the biggest factor regarding whether or not it is uncomfortable is the expertise of the person inserting it. I have very rarely felt pain but then again, I have nice big veins.

Ask: For Lidocaine injection first with a tiny needle. That way you will not feel the bigger IV needle.
