Several causes: Abnormal values on lung function test can be due to several reasons: if shows obstruction: asthma or copd if suggests restriction: overweight, abnormal chest wall, alveolar disease poor technique (it's not easy to perform) a conversation with your doctor will help clear it up.

Interpretation/M.D.: The pulmonary function test report shows many values related to lung function. The report generated may indicate whether the quality of the testing and your effort led to inaccurate values. Multiple different forms of lung disease may cause low values upon testing.
