Ok, probably: A once in a while episode of heavier, or longer menses is not cause for alarm! but, persistent abnormal or long bleeding is worrisome and should be worked up by an ultrasound and possibly some labs, such as checking your blood count, thyroid, and of course ruling out an atypical pregnancy!
