Whenever : Whenever there is any question of pregnancy, the safest thing is to take a pregnancy test to be sure. Both hormone fluctuations for other reasons, as well as pregnancy, can cause breast tenderness, or abnormal spotting/bleeding. Taking a urine pregnancy test may put the patient's mind at rest.
