Trigger : There is usually a trigger that will bring this on. Would see a neurologist who can help you determine what might have happpened and to secure the diagnosis.

Migraine variant: Horton's cephalgia, paroxysmal hemicrania, icepick headaches, may all strike like a lightening bolt. May need a preventative medicine, but check with your doctor, if instead of migraine, you may have acquired a neuralgia over the trigeminal distribution.
