Usually 2-5 days...: If it hangs down (/dependent) it will throb. Can put a cold compress on/around it (keep finger dry) to reduce swelling which will reduce the throbbing & try keeping that hand up--heart level or higher--for 15-20 minutes to see if that helps. If neither help, watch it closely, as might be early sign of infection + push on tip to blanche skin & count "3-mississippi-s" if color not back--see er dr.
