A member asked:

The effects of not taking thyroid meds ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: It depends upon what the medication is and for what kind of thyroid problem you're receiving it. The effect, depending upon the medication, may be slow or rapid -- but all of the effects are bad and potentially harmful, with return to your pretreatment state. Take you meds, otherwise they don't work and you don't stay healthy.
