Not likely: Anxiety attacks can be associated with palpitations, cold sweats, diarrhea and feeling of dread. The symptoms may make one afraid they are experiencing a heart attack, especially when associated with chest tightness and difficulty breathing. I mentioned not likely, but if you have significant cardiomyopathy or ischemic heart disease a sudden rise in heart rate could be dangerous.
