Itching & Jaundice: As well as elevated blood levels of bile acids. More common in scandinavia, south america, and multiple gestation pregnancy. An increased sensitivity of some women to the estrogen hormones of pregnancy lead to a reduced ability of their bodies to eliminate bile acids, causing them to accumulate. The condition usually resolves within 2-3 weeks of delivery.
