Minor tolerance : Quite often and especially at the beginning of treatment , there is tolerance that develops with treatment with these medications and it may take few adjustments before you reach the optimal effective dose for you. We see this with treatment of mood and anxiety disorders using antidepressants. Talk to your doctor and be patient and don't be discouraged.

Alternative Meds: 44 yo female with Fibromyalgia, FM, including depression benefitted by Effexor, but pain continues. Meds for pain: Lyrica, Savella (milnacipran) & Cymbalta. However none of these meds enhance sleep disturbance; due to pain on sleep surface. Restless sleep begets daytime fatigue and dptession. Cannabis indica has helped many w. FM to have less pain & depression & more sleep. Use only in states where legal.
