Pregnancy bleeding: The answer is yes, bleeding during pregnancy is quite common, occurring in about 33% of all pregnancies. Most of the time it is just light, irregular spotting which carries no significant risk to the pregnancy, but in about 5% of cases it represents a miscarriage. The heavier the bleeding and the more pain there is tends to indicate a higher risk for miscarriage.
