It's a time issue: The most critical factors in vasectomy reversal success include length of time since the vasectomy as well as the specific location along the vas where the procedure was performed. This latter item may not be determined until the surgeon is doing the reversal. Success rates tend to decline after 9 to 10 years, however successful reversals have certainly occurred beyond that time as well.
