Thyroid abnormality: Can lead to atrial arrhythmia but afib more common with hyper not hypothyroidism.

No: Hyperthyroidism (not hypothyroidism) is associated with atrial fibrillation. Sometimes, over treatment of hypothyroidism may result in hyperthyroidism, and atrial fibrillation could result.
