URI: Most often uri's require no antibiotics as they are caused by a virus. You can try Robitussin-DM as an expectorant and cough suppressant with plenty of fluids.

URTI = common cold: If fever, headache and malaise, anti-inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen can be helpful. Rest. Stay hydrated to thin nasal secretions. Warm saline gargles and saline nasal spray or irrigations are also helpful for sore throat and cough, post nasal drip respectively.
