Bronchitis vs pneumo: You could have bronchitis or pneumonia. If you are having lots of thick mucous this may affect gas exchange and cause shortness of breath. You can try over the counter mucolytic drugs (ie guaifenisin) but if your symptoms continue you will have to see your healthcare provider.
