Can birth control regulate your period?

Yes: Hormonal contraceptives such as the pill, the ring, the patch and the shot are commonly used to help regulate menstrual cycles to decrease the flow, regularize the timing or even suppress periods from coming. These medications have other uses and benefits than just contraception.

Yes: When they were first studied these hormonal preparations were designed to help women have predictable periods, influence the amount of flow , and end ovulation pain. Over time they realized birth rates dropped with use as a side effect. Eventually that became their main selling point.
