Complicated: Carbapenems combined with fluorinated quinolones would probably be best. Aminoglycosides do not penetrate lung tissue very well, but might be added by inhalation to minimize the degree of tracheobronchial colonization. Best would be to determine the degree of hypersensitivity reaction to pcn and think about desensitization if the strain is multiresistant.
