Hard to know: It depends on where the cancer came from. Most cancerous nodes in this area would be from lip cancer, floor of the mouth cancer, cancer of the gum. With proper treatment, which can include surgery, radiation, and possible chemotherpy, the prognosis can be good. Other health problems such as smoking, diabetes, heart and lung disease all decrease the prognosis.
