Bruising: You may have a ruptured blood vessel in your finger causing the internal bruising. Therefore the finger is swollen with the fluids and bluish color from the blood of the bruise. Breaking of a blood vessel can occur easily and commonly. Hitting your finger on something to the ring pinching the vessel. Ice the finger to limit the swelling.
