Heavy period: Heavy mensens with blood clots can be from fibroid uterus, see you gyn, you probably will need an ultrasound of the uterus and possibly an evaluation of the endometrium ( inside of the uterus) if a sonogram turn out to be normal, hormones level, coagulation disorder etc...
