Forever: There is no expiration on the stent as long you take your blood thinners as recommended and watch your diet and blood pressure/cholesterol.

Depends: Depends on type of stent and location. Also if patient stops smoking, takes aspirin, takes statin and controls blood sugar all contribute. Usually few months to many years.
