My gf takes contraceptive pills every month.is there any possible side effects?

Yes: Contraceptive pills should be taken every day. If she's only taking them every month, then they won't help prevent pregnancy. There are side effects to birth control pills, but they are typically mild: nausea, headache, and mood effects are the 3 about which women complain to me the most.
