Not uncommon: This is usually when the technologist injects cck. Cck causes the gallbladder to contract and allows the tech to measure the ejection fraction (how well the gallbladder empties). Some healthy people feel pain when cck is injected, especially if injected quickly. In some people, if the cck reproduces the patient's usual pain, this is one possible indicator of gallbladder dysfunction.

Sometimes gb: Cck or cholecystokinin is hormone injected during second part of test that stimulates gall bladder to contract. If slow injection of cck pain may be significant. Rapid injection can cause pain by itself. Sometimes patients have irritable bowel syndrome that cck can affect with increasing bowel peristalsis. If gb ejection fraction is reduced then even more evidence for possible gall bladder disease.

Gallbladder disease: If the pain is below the right rib cage and they injected cck or cholecystokinin, the pain is likely related to gallbladder dysfunction.
