Fluid: Fluid, fluid, getorade. Avoid milk. If you are vomiting see a doctor right away.

Depends on how : Severe symptoms r: viral gastroenteritis usually resolves in 24-48 hours; keep hydrated with fluids; slow diarrhea with kaopectate (kaolin and pectin). If bloody diarrhea or severe diarrhea, see doc; may need IV fluids &/or antibiotics. If marked stiffness (suggestive of botulism) call ambulance for immediate transport to er.
