White spots tonsils: White spots on the tonsils are most commonly caused by the sore throat virus, and the white spots represent a small accumulation of white blood cells and some food debris in the little pockets on the surface of the tonsils. In strep throat, a bacterial infection, the pus can cover the whole tonsil. Cottage cheese is a healthy food but will not do anything for the white spots.
