Several options.: Is she on birth control pills or the Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud? If so, this is normal. If she is not taking any type of birth control, it suggests her hormones may be out of balance and she may simply have a thin uterine lining. She should bring this up with her doc.

Normal: Everyone's periods are different. Some bleed more than others. Birth control pills can alter menses, too. If any change, go see your/her doc for evaluation.
