UTI? : Kidney infection, or infection in the urinary tract system maybe the cause. Do you have urgency, feeling like you have to go to the bathroom, then go but not much later it repeats? Does it burn when you go to the bathroom? Do you wake at night to go to the bathroom? Then UTI (urinary tract infection) likely the cause.

Dull, achy pains: Given only a description of dull achey flank pains on both sides with soreness, I have to surmise that you have strained your abdominal muscles. This is usually caused by excess bending or twisting movements, and is usually much worse with bending and twisting. Motrin will help this a lot. It is unlikely to be a kidney problem because kidney problems usually happen on only one side at a time.
