This is a very: Complex topic. Rituxan (rituximab) maintenance can be suggested in specific circumstances, more commonly with the indolent nhls. You will need to have a detailed risk/benefit discussion with your hematologist/oncologiist.

If Follicular: If you mean follicular grade iiia, i would recommend the maintenance Rituxan (rituximab) (4 weekly doses every 6 months for 2 years or 1 dose every 2 months for 2 years). Because it is stage i and curable with radiation and chemotherapy, you may find some that would say it's ok not to.

Maintenance therapy: ...with rituximab is commonly given for follicular lymphoma, but not so much for other types of NHL (non-Hodgkins Lymphoma). Rituximab maintenance forestalls the the recurrence of the disease, but does not necessarily make patients live longer; because they could also wait and get rituximab a 2nd time when there disease relapses.
