Please tell me about rituxan (rituximab) therapy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Used for lymphoma: Rituxan (rituximab) was one of the first monoclonals to be used to treat lymphoma having failed chemo. Rituxan (rituximab) which is a mAb targeting CD20, a marker on lymphomas and normal WBC induces ADCC tumor kill on all cells with the markers. Patients manage since the normal WBC's are regenerated in the marrow from precursor cells so count remains normal. Marked improvement in survival of lymphoma now seen.
