Fluid inside joint: Hyaluronic acid is distributed thougout the body including connective tissue. It is in the highest concentration in fluids in the eye and joint. It is in joint fluid. It bathes the knee, gives nutrition to the cartilage, cushions the joint. When a joint gets disease the hyaluronic fluid beome abnormal. One of the treatments for degenerative arthritis is the injection of hyaluronic acid.
