What is costochondritis and what are the symptoms?

Inflammation => pain: Any -itis means inflammation of that structure, so sinusitis & appendicitis mean inflammation of sinuses & appendix, respectively. Therefore, costochondritis is painful inflammation of costochondral junctions, joint btwn rib & cartilage of sternum (breast bone).
