Alfalfa is a field plant that can be cultivated to feed livestock or grow wild as a weed. If you believed all (or it seems to me any) of the therapeutic claims made by folks selling it, you'd be reading uncritically. The big concern is an unusual Amino Acid in alfalfa which in non-human animals is used in a model of lupus. Whether alfalfa really causes lupus in humans is unclear.
